Gregg Evans - A Setting Sun, Volume I, 2015 (signed)

These are photographs of striated rock, mutated vegetation, empty plastic bottles and rippling water. These are things we have discarded, left behind; things we want to remember but can’t help but move on from. This is the beginning of a series about aging, ephemerality and loss.

Gregg Evans is a photographer working in Brooklyn, NY. He holds an MFA in Photography from Columbia College Chicago and a BFA in Visual Arts from S.U.N.Y Purchase. Working mainly with text based imagery and photography, Evans’ work revolves around issues of ephemerality, memory, time and desire. Recent exhibitions include the Aperture Gallery, The Griffin Museum of Photography, and The Kinsey Institute for Research in Gender, Sex and Reproduction. He likes milk shakes in almost any weather condition, Roseanne, and My Bloody Valentine.
