all that cannot be said is an series of works based on the dysphoria and desperation of New York City. Unintended circumstances moved Stearns around these areas of the city, specifically Queens and Brooklyn. He soon found the photographs acted as a mirror of his emotional state as internal and external worlds echoed each other.
Colin Stearns (b. 1974 Dalton, Georgia) is an artist based in New York. He earned is MFA in Studio Art from Hunter College and BFA from the School of The Art Institute of Chicago. Stearns’ work has been published and exhibited internationally, including a new nothing, Landscape Stories, Places Journal, Oranbeg Press, Oxford American magazine, Super Massive Black Hole and Conveyor magazine.
